Course description

Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) is a two-year postgraduate program. The course is based on pharmaceutical sciences that deal with the study of drugs and medicines. It enhances students’s theoretical, technical, and practical knowledge in the field of pharmacy and also develops curiosity among the students to carry out further pharmaceutical research.

To be eligible for MPharm courses, candidates must have passed their BPharm or related course with the required percentage. Some colleges may require candidates to have valid marks in certain entrance exams. Some accepted entrance exams are GPAT, NIPER JEE, AP PGECET, and many more.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)


PSO1: Graduates will have a detailed understanding of theoretical and practical knowledge of all core and allied subjects of pharmaceutical sciences, including dosage form design, drug administration routes, mechanisms of action, chemical structures, drug dosages, patient treatment, counseling, dispensing, hospital administration, manufacturing, and quality assurance/regulation.
PSO2: They will be able to highlight the concepts and operative components of pharmacovigilance, clinical pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, pharmaceutical care, pharmacoeconomics, clinical research, and clinical pharmacokinetics for the benefit of academicians, hospital/community pharmacists, and the industry.
PEO3:The program includes rigorous coursework in biopharmaceutics, drug transport, pharmacokinetics & pharmacodynamics, drug delivery systems, cell and molecular biology, synthetic and macromolecular chemistry, chemical and biomedical engineering, materials science, physiology, and pharmacology.
PEO4: There is an emphasis on Drug Discovery and Design, Drug Delivery, Drug Action and Clinical Sciences, Drug Analysis, Cost Effectiveness of Medicines (Pharmacoeconomics), and Drug Regulatory Affairs.
These outcomes are aligned with the curriculum designed by universities as per the guidelines of the Pharmacy Council of India, ensuring that the education provided is dynamic, progressive, and relevant to the current needs of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare sector
